Marquette Capital Partners is a private investment firm established in 1997 to make junior capital investments in mature lower middle market companies. The firm is an affiliate of Marquette Financial Companies, a $2.8 billion financial services firm with a diversified portfolio of finance companies, banks, and specialty financial services businesses owned by the Carl R. Pohlad family. Marquette Capital Partners is managed by a small number of seasoned professionals who provide significant resources as a result of their affiliation with a sophisticated and supportive financial services conglomerate. Marquette Capital Partners has offices in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Chicago, Illinois.
Since 1997, we have made junior capital investments in seventeen lower middle market companies. Our investments have funded internal growth strategies, new acquisitions, management buyouts, leveraged buyouts, and recapitalizations. We have partnered with numerous financial institutions and a wide array of ownership groups, including a significant number of family-controlled companies.
Marquette Capital Partners invests via Marquette Capital Fund I, LP, a Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) licensed by the US Small Business Administration. The fund has been in operation since 2004 and has approximately $80 million in capital available. In addition to completing transactions for the fund, Marquette Capital Partners has the ability on a select basis, through the resources of its affiliates, to make investments that do not fit SBA parameters.
The common thread to our success has been our commitment to partner with companies and management teams that have had a proven business model and a well-conceived strategy for long-term earnings growth.
